Distraction
Politics is (nearly) always a distraction from the everyday struggles of ordinary people. It's become more and more soap opera over the years, but today British politics reached new lows or highs depending on your point of view. I can't engage with it. The idea of Brexit is just stupid and unworkable, the idea that you can undo 40 years of bureacratisation and international legal interconnection in a few months with some document of agreement was always a fantasy.
Some are still lost in the fantasy. And most of the rest are just enmired in opposing the fantasy, which is probably worse, it means you're lost in the fantasy without even knowing it.
I find the whole thing very depressing and distracting. I thought we'd got better than this.
Making tea and art are the only things I can see to do.
