Approximately every eighth person who voted for President Donald Trump said that he would not have done it again after seeing the results of Trump's work for his first six months of the presidency, showed the results of a poll by Reuters and Ipsos.
Although most of the people who voted for Trump on November 8 said they would repeat their choice again, blurring his support in a winning coalition of elderly, dissatisfied and mostly white voters poses a potential problem for the president.
Trump is in dire need of any supporter to advance his agenda through a split congress and potentially win a second presidential term in 2020.
The poll of Reuters and Ipsos involved voters who told investigators that they voted for Trump in the presidential election in late 2016.
While other polls measured various levels of frustration among Trump supporters, the Reuters / Ipsos poll shows how many of them are willing to change their minds compared to the voting day. The survey was initially conducted in May, and then again in July.
In a July poll, 12% of respondents said they would not vote for Trump, "if the 2016 presidential election were repeated today," 7% said they do not know what they would do, and the remaining 5% said they were likely to support another Candidate or that they would not have voted at all.
At the same time, 88% said they would again vote for Trump, while in May 82% of the respondents answered similarly.
In aggregate, the polls show that Trump's position has improved somewhat over the past few months, despite the Republican Party's repeated failures to review the health system and numerous investigations into its campaign's ties to Russia.
Of course, most of the presidents lose support among the main supporters, the longer they are in the White House. Obama's support declined among Democrats and minority voters, although this was not noted until the end of his first term.
Some of the disappointed in Trump explained this by fatigue from the daily trolling of the Democrats, the media and litigation. Some were disappointed with the lack of, in their opinion, the fight against illegal immigration. Others did not like the fact that Trump could not overcome the division among the Republican Party.

I find that ... more than disturbing, from the people who think like that and from Trump himself, I mean : you are one of the most important people in the world as P.o.t.U.S., think twice before you say or do something ... ?

If we're being honest, we were given the choice between two shit sandwiches for the 2016 election. Anyone who voted for Trump, who wouldn't vote for him if given the choice today, didn't base their vote on the right criteria. I disagree with many things the administration has done but if I were given the choice between Trump and Clinton again today - I'd still vote against Clinton - wouldn't even have to think about it.
On a different note - who exactly are these people who've witnessed the left's consistently ridiculous reactions to the election, and everything since, who are like, "damn, I wish those guys had won, I should've voted for their side."
