Families Seperation: They don't care, It's all Politics

Finally a breakthrough arrived; the case of children being forcefully separated from parents is getting a spotlight. Not the way I wanted or imagined, but at least it gives a great platform for those who have been abused by the system to be heard.

That was my wish at the initial stage when the outrage over migrant children being separated from their parents into facilities described as “warehouses and cages” by some was first reported by the mainstream media. I had spoken about false outrage in the past and hoped within me that this would be different; I dare say I am wrong.

What has been ongoing has been a Trump bashing tirade by the mainstream and, I dare say, the democratic party. It is not so much about the children or the issue at hand as it is about who sits at the presidency. I have largely been entertained by statements credited to the mainstream in respect to this issue.

“Those kids who have been separated from their parents are already being traumatized. It does not matter whether the floor is swept and the bed sheets tucked at night” said Senator Merkley as she spoke about the long term effects of separating kids unfairly from parents, the same long term effects that has been voiced by victims and activists on CPS and the child welfare system but has largely been ignored by the media and political class.

Another report credited to the head of Tahirih Justice Centre spoke about the lack of warning before parents were separated from their children. Some were even lied to, not knowing their kids were being kidnapped from them, she said. Am sure if you’ve stayed on this community long enough or basically follow the atrocities committed by CPS, this is all mundane stuff to your ears. It has now been repackaged as ‘breaking news’ to whip up sympathy in other to fire up sentiments.

Perhaps particularly most annoying to me is how one man is at the center of this issue with the main focus itself having to play lesser role in the spotlight. Let me just give some examples of headlines carried by mainstream outlets today:

“How Trump came to enforce a practice of separating migrant families” by the New York Times

“Republicans on defensive, but Trump digs in on separating parents and children at border” by CBS news

“Trump Migrant Seperation Policy” Children in ‘cages’ in Texas” by the BBC
There's a lot more headlines of a similar nature.

Maybe I am the one reading too much into this, but reading those headlines as a neutral want me to hate Trump rather than actually care about kids being separated from families.

Am not a soothsayer but I doubt anything meaningful emerges from this. At most, the media has its way, the policy is stopped on migrant children only but the abuse continues for those families not caught up in the political war.

This is totally a political battle that the mainstream media and establishment want to pin on Trump. They don’t intend on solving the problem and they don’t really care about these kids as much as they would like us to believe. What they care about the most is how they can use this to destroy Trump!

You are exactly right my friend and all this began with the Obama administration and Trump is being blamed for it. At least that is my feelings.

I thought the exact same things when the media started their indignant frenzy over treatment of criminals a couple days ago!

We should be able to make hay out of this, BIG TIME, if there are even a few Congress Critturs with guts (and some basic rhetorical skills)..."Why don't we care about American-born children being ripped from their parents, every day--BY THEIR OWN GOVERNMEN--when there was no crime committed, but we're all in a lather and a tizzy over criminals being 'mis-treated' ?"

I unplugged from TV/news some time ago, other than what I see here. It hit me how if any political activists groups against CPS kidnapping wanted the spotlight they would go where these kids are being kept and make large signs for the media to capture in their pictures.

You are absolutely correct, the hypocrisy is glaring here. But then, politically speaking the left here has always argued more strongly for non citizens than the actual citizens. Not that I feel the right is all that wholesome either, just sayin.
