RE: Unpopular Opinion: I like Angela Merkel

Right now if you watch the Antifa movement (which has now spread to Europe as well) they call for the end of Fascism and call opponents Nazis.

Yet if they actually knew their history they may realize that they are the ones acting like fascists and using similar techniques to say the Brown Shirts.

"Right now if you watch the Antifa movement (which has now spread to Europe as well) they call for the end of Fascism and call opponents Nazis."

Wow, I still get to be an arrogant jerkface >:). The antifa is deeply rooted in Europe. We have had them for ages. https://eng.wikipedia.org/wiki/Antifa

Im honestly quite shocked you don't know. It has been the militant arm of the left. I mean at least from prison (A. Brotherhood) you should have some militants right wingers. Now you got left wingers as well. It's no big deal, let the cops beat the shit out of them. They do that every 1st May in Germany Hamburg, burning cars, fireworks. A friend of mine wanted to just watch the spectacle ones and got a huge bruise from a cop stick xD. We actually take that quite sportlich ([lit.]sporty, leisure) in Germany.

I am also not talking about true Anti-Fascism. Yes, that has been around a very long time.

The movement we have clearly has not clue what fascism is, and how it came to power in the past, because they use the exact same techniques and act the same. Brutal intolerance.

just so you see im not just talking out of my ass 1. May 2001 in Germany

I actually heavily disagree, extrem right and extrem left has never been about dialouge. Both sides see themselves at war with each other since at least one century. Antifa and Skinheads are the ones that want to use violence. Even though a burning car never brought a revolution. You need the military on your side for a forceful revolution... actually you should really keep that in mind, a lot of your vets seem rather red-pilled.

They don't seem to be hiding behind masks (bandanas) like they mostly are here these days. Has that changed in Germany as well?

its illegal to wear a mask to a demonstration/public ralley in Germany. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Anti-mask_laws I think it was done because of the very same antifa you have now ;)

Likely, well the mask thing is new here. It is not illegal here. I think if it were that group would be a lot smaller in size than it is. As the majority of them likely would not like their identities exposed.

Furthermore, using masks the rich backers can bus people around from different locations so it always seems like local groups, but some times it may even be the same people that were at another event. It's truly impossible to know for sure thanks to the masks.

The masks are very beneficial to them.

The are not particularly useful to peace, getting people swayed to support your cause, etc.

Wait, so I got you as Anarcho-capitalistic libertarian to agree on making a new law? poke poke

I am heavily in favor of this law of course.

I view Anarcho-Capitalism as a long term goal, perhaps generations from now. As I stated I do not think it will work right now. In fact I am certain it would not.

I live in the real world. I am not stupid, so because I think governments are predominantly an evil thing I do not act so ignorant to believe they will cease to impact my life or my families life simply because I decide I don't support them.

It doesn't work that way.

So when you said fight from within the system. I told you I also did not stop fighting, I just have come to the point I think it will need to get much darker before the average person is ready to start looking for the light.

As such I believe most laws could be removed. There also may be other ways to deal with the mask wearing thugs than additional laws, but for now a law might work as well.

I do think we have too many laws, and in the U.S. we have so many crazy laws that pretty much every citizen unknowingly breaks some every day.

Others they knowingly break.

did you ever visit Germany? you mentioned you had quite a passion as a child.

Nope, I've only ever been to Canada. Some day if I get my passport situation worked out I wouldn't mind visiting England, Ireland, and Germany. A hike in the black forest, checking out some old castles, bunkers, etc. Museums... those all sound fun to me.

I need to work on getting my passport fixed. Some difficulties with my birth certificate due to an adoption when I was younger and lost paperwork that I need to work through so I can get a passport. I need to do this for work anyway, so I'll have to work on getting it fixed.

Well, you know we Germans let everyone into our country, see refugee crisis ;D. I feel like you would love it here. Well, except for all the bureaucracy. But in Germany we are very "dont do to something to someone, you don't want to be done to yourself".
That's why we can have the fastest highways on earth, because most of us have some sort of common sense.
Deutschland has also many different regions. The most beautiful I saw yet was the Loreley. You got old castles, wine bergs and the mighty Rhine flowing through the landscape.

Well, you know we Germans let everyone into our country, see refugee crisis

I believe if I were to immigrate to Germany that I should respect and learn your culture. I believe it would be wrong of me to try to force your country to change to my beliefs and practices.

That seems to be a problem that the refugee crisis is causing all over Europe not just Germany. These refugees don't seem to have any interest in becoming part of your society. The seem to want to force your society to fit their desires.

That is a problem. That is actually the number one reason I likely would not visit Germany at the moment. I don't consider it particularly safe with all of that going on, especially for an American... we're pretty hated all over due to our dumb ass government and it's evil ways.

But in Germany we are very "dont do to something to someone, you don't want to be done to yourself".

So if I am a sado-masochist and like to be whipped can I walk around in the streets whipping people?
laugh

I am just messing with you. That has been my recent problem with that particular idea. What if you like people doing stuff to you that a lot of people don't like? There are other variations of that concept even going back into ancient Egypt which I believe can be phrased with what the intent was without leaving some nasty loophole for a psychopath or sociopath. :)

Oh and also our extreme right, and extreme left in your sense of the word have been VERY small in number then compared to what they are today. However, they've got George Soros and other billionaires funding them heavily in the U.S. right now.

Also the cops have been ignoring them while they've been attacking bystanders, burning shit, and turning protests into violent protests here.

bad/stupid cops then. The police in Germany is pretty easy going in general, but, I told you this urge for justice, if they see random violence against innocent people, they go apesh*t. That's how my friend got hurt. Police hammering at everything that was suspicious and running away.

That used to be how it was here. Like I said things changed when Hillary didn't win. Suddenly a lot of things went backwards in the U.S. and intolerance went through the roof.

I heard stories about the military equipment your police got... where are the water cannons?

Oh they have it. Just in some cases they were told to stand down against Antifa. Like I said... Trump was not supposed to win. For the first time in memory the media and the propaganda it pushes did not elect the president. You could tell by their panic, whining, and in some case frantic confusion after he won that it was unplanned. I've never seen anything quite like it.

So places like Berkeley, California the police were told not to interfere.

There are places where the police have done things, but most of the time they don't end up doing much.

This is especially true in California... the land ruled by Hollywood. :) The place the American Culture you don't like has most of its seeds.

So the antifa actually got bought by the DNC to come to the USA and make waves against Trump, the irony.

the only natural cause i could think of was Spencers "Heil Trump" Speech.

But Hillary has been known to organize some good riots, so maybe a bit of both ;)

Yeah, that sounds about right actually. And yes Spencers speech is lauded as the way most Trump supporters are and in reality that couldn't be further from the truth. Most supporters didn't even know about that speech and the white supremacist minority of supporters.

I am familiar as I researched them and Alt-Right as a term a few months ago when debating with a friend on slack.

They are a fairly recent thing in the U.S. since this last election cycle. I mentioned I'd been seeing them active in Europe recently and it was another European that told me that had only recently come over there.

Do they act the same as the antifa we have in the U.S.?

If so, man I am sorry for you guys.
