Introduction

I am a politically affiliated guy and I am turned on whenever people are discussing about politics, happenings all over the world. Writing this piece, I was motivated by an article i read about North Koreans, their power and how they are wielding the sword they hold in their hand putting, even countries with bigger power in danger, after reading that article i promise to share with you guys here some bit of research work on North Korea. Today i will not be discussing about North Korea power and Military strength ( I promise by tomorrow, that should be ready)

Then I was pushed to going online, seeking knowledge on their power, their origin, their wealth, economic status, military strength. I was amazed about the untold stories I saw.

Navigating the Korean peninsula

I am not here discuss stories behind the division between the North and South Korea. But it is imperative for me to discuss how both Koreans came about their being separate, this apart can help us to distinguish what causes what between these two nations.

Korea, a name formed from goryeo by outsiders and travelers visiting goryeo, a kingdom formed from the marginalization of the popular three kingdom in the Korean peninsula, namely Gorguryeo, Shilla and Baekjae. After the infamous Japan Invasion of the Korea peninsula and the subsequent independence gained through the help of America and The USSR, i.e Russia, These two countries, namely America and Russia, shared this country among themselves in which Russia took over the control and government of the North while USA took over South Korea. This division really affect the growth of this nations negatively

With the division, Russia gave North Korea their way of life, Communism while America gave South Korea, Capitalism.

Communism or Tyranny?

These question has arisen most times when people are discussing communism, some says communism is another version of tyranny!

This is also the case with North Koreans, but is this really the truth or are we masked off from the truth?

Note: Actually I am not a communist and i don't plan to be one and I am not a North Korean neither a South Korean, but we need critical thinking when condemning something.

Blogs, social media posts, newspapers etc put North Korea and her citizen in a bad spot, saying they are ruled by a tyrant, some says the country is on a journey with no return because they stand up against bigger countries. But we forgot something, that big country was at some point in time a small or even smaller country, but we step rejecting Kim Jong Il, The North Korean leader, giving him an unfitting respect as the leader of a country.

When talking about communism, it is crystal clear that North Korea is not the only country using that mode of rule, Russia, China are countries that are enjoying the benefit of communism, so we couldn't say because a smaller country is using that mode of government, they are experiencing underdevelopment!.

Dare the "Golden Goliath"

Some of us were embarrassed, if not frightened, by what appeared to be the return of the biblical giant gold Goliath. Are we having a return of Goliath to our midst, who threatens the extinction of other countries?

Rising from the bottom with no help from the renowned world power, America, North Korea rises to the top in terms of countries that are ready for battle, with enough weapons and massive jackets loaded with Nuclear weapons, is this underdevelopment. Whereas we are told that;

A secured place owns it all

I always respect North Koreans for doing what bigger countries cant do, standing up and daring the impossible, waking others up to use their potentials to develop themselves. If this is not development, then I ask you, WHAT IS DEVELOPMENT?

With that, I'll end my first part of my research on North Korea, their stories and might. Like i said earlier, i will write another post which will complement this one and it will be about North Korea military strength and power.

Thanks for reading my post, I am really appreciative, kindly dont forget to RUC, your feedbacks keeps me going. You are wonderful. Thanks again

North Korea is not a socialist nor communist country; let me dwell into this further. North Korea follows an ideology called Juche which there is little documentation on it other than "On the idea of juche" by Kim Jong-il. While this book may not be one of the most fun reads it essential to understanding the North Korean mindset. Juche can be described as an ideology of survival, where the country relies on its songun policy (translating to military first).

To further go into this and to give some historical context, the Korean peninsula from mid 1910 was under Japaneese rule which was an imperialist state. Since the taking of the peninsula the fascist government has tried to promote that the Korean's were part of the Japaneese race and that Korean was a dialect, but here is the important bit; they recognized the korean culture and really incentivized it while trying to put a Japaneese spin to it. Since 1945 split of Korean Peninsula, North Korea may be seen as a remnant of the old Fascist Japaneese Empire; as the North Korean regime really pushes the cultural and national aspect of Korea, which may be easily demonstrated by classical Korean art being produced there and women wearing traditional clothing.

Sorry if I may have been incoherent in this comment as I was tired. My entire goal of this comment is to shed some light on the regime, which I don't even support. Any further questions and counter arguements I will be looking forward to answering :)

Wow, What a nice comment you just made, I was astonished by your comment
To say the fact, I was amazed by your cool and brilliant explanation on some of the things you mentioned.

About the idea of Juche, which you said you did not support, I think that's what paved the way for a relatively small nation like North Korea to be at an advantage in the happenings in the world of Nuclear weapons.
Relying on military strength to gain something good; SECURITY of the populace. Isn't that awesome!!

This is my own thinking, I am really appreciative of your comment. It will surely help in the final part of this write-up

America is being unreasonable with North Korea. It is a fact of History that once a nation gets nuclear weapons they will never give them up. The best proof is America itself. A North Korean diplomat gave a interesting speech recently where he said that North Korea is willing to give up their nuclear weapons if America did so first. Now maybe he really was serious or maybe he just said it as a verbal weapon vs the USA. But he wasn't wrong. Why should one country that not only has such weapons but has killed tens of thousands with them be able to lecture anybody about such weapons. No other nuclear armed nation has ever used these weapons in a war scenario except the USA. In many ways today it is the weapon that one cannot use. Once the nuclear weapons are used in a war in a modern warfare scenario it will immediately unleash a counter attack of massive proportions against the one who fired the first shot. It's called MAD aka mutually assured destruction. Except that with North Korea vs USA that destruction will be very one sided. The USA will wipe the North off the map of this Earth. There won't be much left to call a country. Scortched Earth, zombie looking people with skin hanging off their bones, shadows of the dead burnt into the ground. Maybe Kim can hit Guam, maybe. He can hit South Korea for sure but that isn't US soil. Only if he can hit US soil can he claim to play with the big boys. Surely as time progresses the North Korean capablities will improve. All they need is some modern submarines and the gap is instantly closed. Regardless it's time for the North and the South to make peace. The USA should step aside and allow reconciliation. South Korea needs to make up it's mind whether it wants a permanent enemy or a future friend and brother in a friendly Korean peninsula, a process which may even lead to some type of reunification. I suspect that reunification would end similarly as between East and West Germany. Freedom is non-negotiable.

I think North Korea noticed that peace with their brother country, South Korea is their best bet, the ongoing Olympic is a good move for reconciliation

If North Korea backed down the US would squash them like a bug. This is why they are relentless in pursuit to weaponize and protect themselves. That said I think the propaganda and brain washing is rife over there.

You are damn right, I think Mr. Kim is not trying to forfeit their illegally gained right of having nuclear weapons, because of his people
