Trump the president bears no resemblance to Trump the candidate, and just like Obama he has quickly betrayed the hopes that existed when he was elected. It became obvious early that the fix was in as soon as the administration appointments were made (a comment that applies to both Trump and Obama).
As the broken promises, expansion of wars, subservience to Israhell and refilling of the swamp continues, it seems inconceivable that anyone can still support him. Just as it is bewildering to me how anyone can possibly look back upon the Obama presidency with any feeling other than repulsion (the Nobel Peace prize being especially galling)
Instead people seem to get suckered into the divide and conquer game, without realizing that the Neoconservatives that dominate Republican policy belong to the same think tanks and lobby groups as the Neoliberals that dominate Democrat policy.
Roll on some party, identity and gender politics, create a new enemy to blame for your woes, and listen to the sheep bleet at each other from their respective paddocks without realizing they are continuing to be fleeced.
Unfortunately they will find someone else to blame. Finding a select group of people to blame for problems and hardships has been used time and again to gain power and exploit people's fears, gain their trust, and use their support to achieve goals the people who put them in power would object to. Hitler did it with extreme success by targeting Jews, gays, and gypsies. McCarthy did it with anyone who remotely shared socialist/communist views. ISIS did it with anyone who wasn't Muslim.
Yeah, i mean... Some of his supporters still try to slam "the libtards" with talking points such as "virtue signaling" - huh, i couldve sworn your guy didnt only do this himself but attacked people - namely NFL players - for their refusal to do exactly that.
That assumes the critic is a centrist liberal or otherwise only casually involved in politics. The growing number of independents in the US are aware of Bush's lies, Obama's broken promises, and all the ways Trump isn't making good on his campaign promises either.
You hit on the problem when you said "their resistance to reality". They're stuck in a fantacy world that has been put in their mind..mainly by the 12 years of "government" indoctination...school.
All the good things are Trump's Admin. All the bad things happening are Obama's Admin. LOL
Let's face it a lot of the good stuff with Economy and Stock Market can be pointed to Obama. That's just fact. It takes awhile for Policy to start making an impact and kicking in
Glad you got it right. Maybe there is hope for the snowflake generation. The world is full of fraud and like the saying shit rolls downhill so also does the lies. The biggest lie of all being the dichotomy of democrat/republican being opposed. They are the same. Crooks. Thieves. Liars.

But if people can't blame Obama for something, they will start questioning the meaning of life.

Great point (and nice meme!).

Isn't that phrase used to point out hypocrisy usually?
Like they were ok with it when Obama did it, but are against it when Trump does it.

I was a Trump supporter and i voted him in. i though i was awake, but this last year has shown me how asleep i really am.
I guess that would make sense, if conservatives criticized Obama when he made the list of countries used for the travel ban, did they?
