The autistic spectrum is big and diverse. Each child should be treated individually and their specific needs catered for. Some find it so hard to be in large groups and really suffer trying to understand the rules and nuances of body language. I have taught many autistic children and see the visibly relax when they are alone or in a 1:1 situation. Others learn to cope in mainstream.
