RE: Know Thy City - Lublin Greets / Znaj swe miasto - Lublin wita
This series of yours is like looking at my city's "doppelganger" (if you know the meaning :)) ). The intertwine of pre-soviet architecture with the "People's" Architecture is so similar to what I'm looking at daily. Only the language makes the difference.
I'm consciously targeting these contrasts ;) But yes, I can imagine how Ploesti (because it's Ploesti, right?) is similar to Lublin and vice versa. The trend is slowly reversing, but Lublin's architecture can be tremendously intertwined. For example - in the vicinity of the campus of Lublin's Technical University you can find high-rise socmodernist apartments (dormitories) and postmodernist buildings of glass&steel, next to literal cottage houses.
