Cotton Mather known throughout the land
As the man that brought witches to justice
Yet never played in a band

One witch all alone hiding in the hills
Shape shifting, adapting to the local terrain
Her ego found in what her magic wills

Cotton Mather alone in a Salem snowstorm
After the Witch Hunt

Alone in a Salem snowstorm, gold, and black
A tail not detected

Cotton Mather finds shelter under a tree

This cat could not be

Cotton Mather could not see the nature surrounding him

*Note: Wrote this poem for the latest Poetsunited contest. My aunt was related to Cotton Mather. So thought of that with the Witch Hunt prompt. Then with the picture of the large cat, thought it would be a cool twist if that's the witch. Just put the two together.
