Sometimes you're in the mightiest throne I always see people praising false acclamation Sweet laughter when they are near That's it; not a beautiful tale Laughter; a deception, a lie
Darkest nights instill me with wonder
Why are good people always left to wander
Away from so-called life filled with pain
With no one to cry on in times you're in the edge of pane
Most of the times you are briskly thrown
Out by the ones that falsely love you
And only to find your eyes tear with fading hue
And ended up complying in shoddy acclimation
I tell you, people only care when death carols
In the old dusty empty carrels
When you need a friend, it's always ne'er
So you should learn to keep yourself sane
For true people can't be caught with altruistic seine
People are trapped in endless loop of chasing one's tail
Will they ever learn, will they ever see?
It doesn't hurt becoming a good fish in the sea
This poem is my official entry to @poetrybyjeremy's poetry writing contest. This poem is inspired from the poetry prompt number 1 by @warpedpoetic's PHOTOGRAPHY AND POETRY . Also, I ended each line with homonyms. Hope I did it right. Here is the prompt:
Hiding truth in white teeth,
Smiling at you as if the world
Was a playground and butterflies
Were never cocoons eaten by bats.About the poem:
This poem tackles about the wretched society we are in today. We make problems that makes us question our humanity. We are slowly and slowly becoming inhumane. Fake people. Betrayal. Hate. We are all filled with it. We became rotten as we progress. We tend to forget that being selfish or self-centered will only result to more shortcomings in society. We always ask for peace yet we resort to violence. We always look for great friends yet we are not one. We should learn to think about others, not just ourselves. We need not to become insensitive in dealing with our everyday lives. We need to sympathize more, love more. Only after we do these things we will understand the true value of being alive.
