Are you on steemit.chat? There are channels for poetry, poetry-trails, steemit-writes, writing-trail etc where you can drop your posts to promote them.
You enter it all in at one time, the title, url, and url to the main pic all in order - no returns, just a space in between each (1 * for bold over there) like this...

No need for chatting on Steemit.chat, just drop your posts and done. That's how some of the bigger accounts find you and the vote trails follow them. That's how my drawing post did so well the other day. It got noticed over there. 7-8PM your time is a good time - not so many posts coming in so they stay longer to be seen.

But.... I tried another that asked me to send steem to blueorgy? I have no clue what I just did :(

I have no idea what that site is :-) but I have heard of blueorgy account, they do upvotes, I forget the exact process. But I only knew about them doing it direct on steemit - not that other site.
