Hanging in the Balance
We will be sitting at the seaside
While still waging on this war
and we can watch wales and turtles frolicking
as we hope peace will wash ashore
with sand beneath our feet, we can trade what we see
and maybe if we are lucky find hope for you and me
Its all hanging in the balance, on the scales of love and loss
the face off bliss or sadness depends on one coin toss.
Then we can aim our moral compass in the direction that we choose
as we trade sunrises for high-rises, when we get back to paying dues
And we'll reflect upon our memories, as we analyze and notarize our fears
Ant jot them down in the pages of our hearts, as we process all these years.
How we remember these summer nights under the magnetizing moon
and its luminous light and how it embraced the waves when they were swoon;
Is left to the devices of us both,
Without a silver spoon
My ocean beckons my heart, over this lovely time of year
As my heart yearns for you throughout the Christmas cheer
And the perfect gift in this festive storm; would be having you by my side
So that all this turmoil and loneliness can finally subside
Looks like Viking Ruins.
What a beautiful poem @breezin.
🌃 You have such an emotional pull. I want to help save the world, right along with you. My favorite line is: "as we hope peace will wash ashore." The picture really adds to the poem, too, great choice. Choosing the scales as your dominant image was a cool doing. Adding the ocean waves to it really made the poem roll back and forth in a "festive storm", lol. I like how this poem has a feeling of movement to it, as if we were watching the scales move back and forth while turmoil is weighed out against the power of the Spirit of Christmas! :-) 💒 Cheers~! XO Thanks for hopping on board again this week! Glad to read another one of your great works! :-)
Breaking my heart beautiful, wow!! Beautiful Prose @breezin. Thank You for your entry.
