Poetry Dice <challenge 3000> Week 17 - A better you!
This is my entry for the weekly competition Poetry Dice <challenge 3000> hosted by the stunning @robyneggs & @rensoul17
You can have a gander at her origenal post by following this link
A Better You
Magnified flaws of the smiling faces and crying eyes
A task executed better from the safety of a high horse
Where you can remain exempt from any communal ties
And seek your comfort in straight arrowed lies
Instead of writing memoirs about your perceptions of facades
And constructing walls between the houses of the ‘have’ and the ‘have not’s’
Use the storm that brews within your heart
To ignite your humanity with its thunderous spark.
Then watch all the anguish and judgement in flames
And never look back once you choose to jump that plain
Then find your bliss in rainbows and stars
That sprouts from the joy of you healing scars
Awesome! Upvoted and resteemed!
This caught my attention 'Use the storm that brews within your heart
To ignite your humanity with its thunderous spark'. Thanks
That's a fine looking high horse, but what you got in the stables?
...Drain the whole sea for something shiny....
...I'll tell you my sins, so you can sharpen your knife...
"She demands a sacrifice
Drain the whole sea
Get something shiny
Something meaty for the main course
That's a fine looking high horse
What you got in the stable?
We've a lot of starving faithful
That looks tasty
That looks plenty
This is hungry work
Take me to church
I'll worship like a dog at the shrine of your lies
I'll tell you my sins and you can sharpen your knife
Offer me that deathless death
Good God, let me give you my life"
