RE: [POEM] Dandelion Seeds - Late Night Poetry [POETRY CONTEST - WIN $5 SBD] ~~5 Entries~~
Today's California summer rain plants seeds of memory
Becoming a frustrated bloom of yesterday's storms.
The perfect thunderstorms of Ohio, humid with anticipation
They were deliberate, singular - almost historical
Rolling one way towards a clear horizon, a known horizon
But, I could never roll with them
I am a swift breeze that moves past without consideration
Disturbing the long-rooted plants in the fields - almost rudely
Driven here by the high pressures, the invisible forces
Guiding everything towards the muddy horizons of the present
I wait for the rain to end, for the drought to return
knowing tomorrow has no patience for my windy plight
Nice entry! A non-rhyming one already!
Cheers!
Thanks.
I'm not a huge fan of rhyming anymore, depending on the meter. Internal rhymes, alliteration and consonance are always fun though.
