RE: Anti Racism Struggle Icon Winnie Madikizela-Mandela is no longer with us // original poetry by an African
“Roots that creep closer......” Just how deep did those roots of anti-racism go I wonder? Mandela’s legacy will long be remembered and with well chosen words such as you have written here @trumanity true heroes will continue to be honoured with the deep respect they truly deserve .
I hope so my dear. Winnie's voice was the only 'Mandela' we heard until I was a young man, and then it went silent. She was villified and gently marginalised by the very organisation she led. Even now, I am appalled to hear too many speak of her human errors or seek to gain campaign points, even before we lay her to rest. I believe in those roots though. What they build on the surface is but sandbags.
Thank you so much for reading and for your thoughtful comments. Have a good day.
You make some very valid points and it astounds me how some people can have short memories. Have a great day too my friend.🌻
