Every writers worst nightmare-original poem

in #poetry8 years ago

I stare at the blank screen
Watching the cursor blink
My mind isn't working
I just can't think

Writers block has set in
I need a muse
Something to break these chains
Something that cannot lose

Nothing is more frustrating
These pages will not write themselves
Searching for any idea
Maybe something decent is on the shelves

I should've been a gambler
It wouldn't be hard
The pay would be great
Better than a bard

I could've been a racer
Learned to tame the track
I'd win for sure
And never look back

The things I could be
Even a miner
Dig the ore
None any finer

This is the life I chose
So I'll just stare at this page
Hoping to finish
Before dying of old age

Thank you! Had writers block, so I started writing and this is the result.

You gotta love being inspired by writer's block. Haha. Beautifully written! :D

Thank you! Yea, gotta get inspiration from somewhere.

Great poem. Awesome picture at the end!

Thank you! Yea, thats how I feel sometimes.

I'm not a real writer if there is such a thing but I do find getting away from it for a while helps. Like go out for a walk or some exercise. Recently, I rested from creating a new post to recover from a cough and sore throat and next thing came a new title. I was stuck with one title for a post I'm working on.

I'm not a writer either, honestly before this past week I had never wrote a word of poetry, but I've found that I enjoy it, so I'll stick with it and see where it takes me.

Well, as long as you are enjoying it, there's no reason to stop unless you are getting too high:-)
