because of you (original poetry)
Maybe you had a tough time in life and had a negative outlook, until someone helped you gain a different perspective. Maybe you felt like everyone around you was in love and there was no one out there for you, until there was. Maybe you were the kind of person who beat yourself up over everything, then finally gave yourself a chance.
This poem goes out to all of you...thank you!
because of you

i remember when
yesterdays felt like mistakes
when tomorrows were feared
and todays
knew nothing would change
these days i wake
smile
and relive moments of yesterday
can’t wait until tomorrow
and today
i know things have changed

It is our pleasure, on review I really enjoy your posts, you are able to keep things simple and don't try to show off by using obscure words. Simplicity is a difficult thing to accomplish without it being viewed as simple.
that is exactly what i try to accomplish in my writing. makes me happy to hear that it's noticed. there's nothing wrong with an extensive vernacular if you want go ahead and use those types of words but i feel like that leaves a lot people out of poetry. not everyone can conquer a strong metaphor, so why make it hard. i think it's more what you are saying than the words you chose to say it. it just needs to said right. thanks again for stopping by.
