Adrift in the Deep (A Poem)

in poetry •  7 months ago

Adrift in the Deep

We were somehow

among songs
and poems beyond count.
Longing firefly sparks,
broken galaxies,

our hearts adrift,
in the great
wash of time,
grinding all to dust.

This rocky shore
betrays the eye
and fools the mind –
fonder, with distance,
yet colder
like elder comets

then winging
into the dark.

Thanks for these beautiful lines...they are so sweet @thinknzombie

Be fooled no more,
Drifting and flowing
Like leaves among the wind
Resting and still on Mother Earth

Love this one. It's so malleable and open to varying readings.

Amazing work, as usual for our favorite zombie.
