The mess you made
Laid bare on the hardwood floors
nails protruding on through
scraping skin and drawing blood
splinters of you driven in home
while the hole you left alone
filled with no more than bone.
The reckoning will arrive soon
your time of judgement will come
what karma has had in store
discounted hope nothing more
as justice serves as a poor grave
for fools themselves believed brave.
Tips and drips of another life
where wings took high in flight
the night rushing past too fast
for a glimpse of what was right
and the ground rushed upward
to awaken from sleepless night.
Cracked and destroyed by fear
seeping into the whitened walls
stains that will never come clean
because no wash will ever be made
as water drops remind the mind
of the tears and mess left behind.
