The Longest Ride - [Poetry] STEEMIT Original Poem

The Summer of '92 was a bit difficult for me. I was 18 and a rebel. Or so I thought. A STEEMIT Original and First.

The Longest Ride

Off, like young boys on a wild adventure.
Off, into the night's milky Pleasure.
Having a good time - playing around,
rolling on the ground.
Hiding in caves,
riding the waves
of joy.

Yeah, Fun like no other.
Laughing,
laughing out loud,
Jumping,
Jumping,
reaching for a clound.
Fun like no other.

Then the Clock screams out
"Time to go home!"
The sun is running to meet the night.
So the ride home begins.
I've never had a longer ride.

Each boy missing his bed,
except me, whose heart just bled.
The fun was over
-driven into the past
by hunger pangs
for missed love.

The Agony of the ride
made me realize
I had no empty bed
in which to rest my head.
The Longest Ride................
home.
