A GOOD BYE NOTE

Quite often a good bye note is not
All of what the name suggests
Sometimes a prayer, at times a cry
Longing to stay, a final grasp
A desperate measure, refusal to restart
A burning desire, a yearning heart
A fading memory, a lasting sight
A losing battle, an unending fight
A bridge of straws to near the gap
While at times it nearly is
Kind of what the name adverts
A final nail in a dead man’s coffin
Dying words of once healthy relation
An ode to times that no longer are
Tribute to memories that shall just be that
And then my friends there comes a time
When all it is, Is a feeble attempt
To rest the heart, to find some end
A shot at closure, to conclude an attempt…

To stitch a wound to burn a boat
Funny lil thing a goodbye note
