Migraine

Hot ice rides my skull face first
scrape me off the floor I can't
bear the internal pressure flood-
gate through my nose sieve
let it out. Let it out, please?
Excedrin, tea, broth, blankets
coveted darkness heal me
coveted quiet even this key-
board tapping is an air strike
me down. I'm down. I'm out
from under the covers but
shaded and shaking, gag
reflex won't unhand my neck
I am bracing for freedom
feeling pain. is freedom pain?
White flag waving, someone
save me. Someone save me.
Someone save me. Some-
one save me. Someone save
me. Someone save me.

Awwww, you melt my soul
And I Cry For you
I’d kill for you
I’d ride with you
I’d dine with you
I’d live forever in a world we create
Just you and I
You inspired me to do that
This inspired a truly mirthful giggle from me. Thank you!
Haha, I cannot believe that you made a poem about the Migraine. Lol. Is freedom pain? Btw its a good poem
Thank you. I had to do something. Still a bit iffy today, but I can look at my screen without sunglasses. Win?
What win? :))
I have never personally had a migraine but I have watched my mother suffer through them for many years and I can only imagine how intense and awful they are. From what I’ve seen my mother go through I would say this poem does a great job of describing how excruciating it can be.
Thank you. I'm sorry your mother has experienced this pain. This migraine was actually very mild (thus the ability to write or even open my laptop). Two days in the quiet and dark with lots of extra sleep did the trick. Plus that Excedrin Migraine. I used to have a prescription for them, but they are so rare now. I'm thankful. It turns out food allergies are the usual trigger. This time I don't know.
I have chronic migraines and can relate to the poem. I hope yours will let up soon.
I feel for you. Mine is easing. Light and sounds are still not great friends to me, but I can move around without gagging and, as you know, that is HUGE.
I like your level of creativity, you make love with words
Always make love with words. They are the greatest power in the world for healing. <3
Good
Thank you!
