MONOGAMY IS BORING OR KINGS HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE (An Original Shakespearean Sonnet)
This poem was done on request by a fellow steemian. The subject inline should be looked upon with a sence of humor and is not meant to be offensive to anyone
Oh gods of love, behold! Hear me, and yet
Another tale of love unfold right now!
A man must search for passion in cold sweat.
All youngsters and old folks do make a vow
Be true to only one, till we decay.
One fondness and one lust, one zeal to grasp.
Alas! But we are partly beasts array,
And to all truths, devotion is an asp.
Who decides the rules for this precision?
A lion's essence must include full play.
Choose one adoration for provision;
Another rapture must indulge the prey.
Close not with tameness; culminate with thirst,
Our lives are short, so make enchantment burst!
^This is great. This poem was fun, I enjoyed, thanks for sharing, I shall make enchantment burst!
Glad you like this )
Is chose, instead of choose, part of old english?
Nope, it was a mistake.... fixed it, thanks!
"A lion's essence must include full play." this is everything :D
I knew youd like this
This is some of your best work.
However, an asp is a snake, which would imply slyness. Did you mean to write, "devotion is an ass"? As in: being totally devoted to an idea is asinine.
Thanks cathi, i like this one myself the most out of my own work. By asp i meant - asp )))
Implying that devotion (or love) is like a snake, can be venomous and sly
