Runaway Rhymes: Already so Old

The house is so quiet now
The light flat and grey
Welcome 2017
On this New Years day
Beer cans and trash
Litter the floor
Dropped and forgotten
From the night before
My heart lies so heavy
Thoughts bleak and cold
As I gaze at the carnage
This new year is already so old
Really cool poem entry, and reflects the drastic environmental changes that the world can undergo by people "celebrating" yet destroying, or leaving destructive waste, the New Year of 2017. Very ironic indeed, and contrasts the whole new beginnings, and fresh clean start when people blatantly have no respect for their living spaces, or nature in general. Best of luck to your entry.
