SHE IS DYING
SHE IS DYING
From the bellows of her gut
She is heaving
She is crying
From flowing tears into dismal mud
With quakes, chills, and boiling blood
Cities drowning due to devastating floods
Erupting in fevers
Spreading all across her skin
Coughing so violently
The winds change direction
Frozen in desolation
Sadness is in her reflection
Within her heart is gold
Her spirit is pure
Yet the sickness is overtaking
Her innate allure
SHE...IS...DYING
Where is the cure?
Test tubes won't contain the answers
Neither will it evidently
Be more than arbitrary
Concerning political fortitudes
Perceived loose morals or aptitude
For she is weak, injured, and destitute
While rich in resources
Her wealth is not her own
There are parasites leaching
minerals from her bones
They could be, but they're not
The beneficial kind, you know
Maybe they were at one time
Aeons ago
If they'd remained close to her
They could've slowed their roll
Before her cells mutated
Into this cancerous shit show
Do they even give a shit?
Or does she stand alone?
Like parasites consuming flesh
Apathetically devouring their host
Not realizing the callousness they show
Consumption is all they must know
She is desperate for reprieve
She is screaming
She is writhing
Suffering in agony
Demanding change of action
Scalding the ones belying
The microorganisms she nurtures
They're oblivious it appears
Collectively only concerned
With themselves and their heirs
Their survival instincts shortsighted
Based on irrational fears
From the chambers of her heart
She is beating
She is trying
Pleading with the greedy tyrants
Who use every opportunity to reft
Never satisfied with the spoils of their theft
From the Wells of her reserves
She is toiling
She is boiling
The magma at her core is deft
Bubbling against inhumanity's heft
Struggling to prevent a cruel murderous death
In the wisps of her spirit
She is fighting
She's defying
Resolved to regenerate
Acquiescing to no ill fate
Dropping jaws of men world widely
To her defense roars a battle cry mightily
"She's not impermeable, adamantine or immune.
These injustices we do so decry!!
Where is the compassion she is due?
Symbiotically we and she thrive
There are no good reasons why..."
SHE IS DYING

keep it up <3
Thank you @izaya t3
Powerful words and images. I really resonated with this. You write really well and convey an important message albeit slightly dark, the intention is clear and communicated well.
It felt appropriate for this topic to get a little dark with it. I'm grateful for pixabay because it allowed the message to be clearer I think. I'm glad you liked it @soulturtle
This is intense. Definitely resteeming.
Thank you @foxyspirit ! I'm glad you like it!
It's so nice to read your words... She speaks through you ♥
Thanks you @vera.carla . I appreciate the kind words
awesome post!
this is heavy man. did you write this for a special person that was in your life? it resonated with me.
No, it's more about my view on how humans affect the earth. She is the earth personified. I realize not everyone believes in man made climate change, but that doesn't mean we aren't harming the planet, either.
Wow, what a great poem with some pictures to back it up. You can feel for her.
Thank you very much ( :

Wow, yes I accept! Thank you for thinking of my Post!
Just to clarify, the photos on my post are sourced from pixabay and are creative commons use, no attribution required. I put that on there but I reread your comment and wanted to make sure only the writing is recognized as my original writing @ocd. Also, am I allowed to use the @ocd-resteem here on this post or is it too late for that?
The pictures are fine. You are too late to put the OCD resteem tag on I'm afraid.
