Lauded and respected,
Feared and despised.
Alone and afraid,
there was nowhere to hide.

Smiling and laughing,
for the lights and fans.
Struggled with life..,
when no-one was there.

Insecure and uncertain,
she stumbled in the dark.
Demanding and schrill,
if she wanted that part.

Beautiful and talented..,
Lonely and shy.
Life is very different,
when you're not allowed to cry.

Posing for the cameras,
performing for the crowds.
Times were so much harder,
in the middle of the night.

Labelled a witch --
she didn't know why...
I guess when your strong,
they call you a bitch.

Jaded and bitter,
hurt deep inside.
Being called a --
takes it's toll over time.

Insecure like us all,
just looking to be loved.
Searching for answers,
in the bubble she survived.

Fearful of the future,
irrelevant and old.
She clung to the past,
in an effort not to die.

Living life in the lights,
surrounded by all…
Is not what you think,
it hurts more when you fall.

Stuck in a crowd --
of strangers and sharks.
Wishing for a life,
of meaning and love.

Who would've thought,
there just like you and me --
Laughing and crying,
at lifes joys and pains.

Searching for answers,
in the land of deceit --
can be hard on a girl,
when you're not allowed to cry.
