Beauty is a mistress,
that keeps you up at night.
The shadows of a tree,
that hang just right.
The darkness that it holds,
define it's very light.
The mystery it unfolds,
that only one can see.
It's awkward and it's humble,
as it says it's first hello…
Thoughtful and submissive,
when it's time to let you go.
Possessed by none,
well worn by few..
It's well lived depth,
define it's inner grace.
Beauty is imperfect,
wondrous and flawed.
Shining bright. Walking tall.
Just like you knew it would.
Beauty is no secret --
it's just misunderstood.
Beauty is a smile
…that's only meant for you.
