Awake To A Smile
People can strip you from many things, but one thing that no one can take from you is the power of your smile.
Robert William Service wrote this beautiful poem about the first thing we should all do in the morning, besides brushing our teeth, SMILE.
Smiles and laughter are very contagious, yet we do not spread enough of it. Same goes for love. We have so much of it to give, yet we are always too busy at times to enjoy a few great moments and reap the benefits of a smile.

Awake To Smile
When I blink sunshine in my eyes
And hail the amber morn,
Before the rosy dew-drop dries
With sparkle on the thorn;
When boughs with robin rapture ring,
And bees hum in the may,--
Then call me young, with heart of Spring,
Though I be grey.
But when no more I know the joy
And urgence of that hour,
As like a happy-hearted boy
I leap to land aflower;
When gusto I no longer feel,
To rouse with glad hooray,--
Then call me old and let me steal
From men away.
Let me awaken with a smile
And go to garden glee,
For there is such a little while
Of living left to me;
But when star-wist I frail away,
Lord, let the hope beguile
That to Ecstatic Light I may
Awake to smile.

Perhaps a very lofty goal to have. Not a morning person here ... usually takes a cup to get a smile but then there is always more to come:)
@joseph this is a good poem, no matter what the case may be a smile would not kill, it will help stabilize your emotion and makes you psychologically balanced on the moment of trouble or worries as well.

Yeah this is so true. From now on whe I wake up every morning I will take a smile,I think that will help to make start the day right. Also, nothing compares to a smile with a prayer early in the morning.

nice poem, first I've ever heard of Robert William Service! I awake to my wifes smile everyday, which in turn, brings a smile to my face. It's a great way to start a day! The trouble is keeping it there the rest of the day, as we face so many different things each day!
