Second Regard

Are watching the Moon tonight.
Just above the bourne
It rises huge and white.
Like a face in a globe
Bloated and distorted,
Resting just above the horizon
On the road before us.
It’s a genial, happy face…
A little pale, a bit grim.
But as we get in the car and head towards it;
It opens its mouth and yawns
And we drive in.
My last thought as it swallows:
“I won’t do that again.”
I want to do a major literary analysis of this poem. I would likely post it this week on steemit.
Am I permitted to?
@johnjgeddes
Yes, of course, @mimy . Let me know when you post it :)
Okay, I will. Thank you!

Was that pic the inspiration for this?
No, actually finding the pic was torturous and took me to the bane of all who search for a photo - the Pinterest website
Upvoted for use of the word bane.
I too am bane for searching for photos, you don't think all those neked wimim are mine?

Not me. I am watching steemit to see if anything is cool on the posts. This one was. =D
thanks, @braxton101
I was honestly confused at the ending. It seems rather dark, like filled with regret. Am I right to say that?
yes, definitely. Despite the superficial levity it is grim humour
My first thought: A murderer who just dumped a body.
The ending made me smile.
I'm glad, @somena
Love the surprise ending!
thank you!
Wow. This is brilliant. And yes the ending was just crazy. Great job.
thank you
