Leaves come down;
Green, brown and gold
Summer loses its hold.
The woods are thinned
To trunk and limb;
New worlds appear
In the autumn sere.
And I am wondering
About your world,
Are there trees and sky
And time passing by?
Do you ever think of me
And dream of what used to be?
Or does your world
Its secrets keep,
While you lie frozen
In wintry sleep?
So vivid and touchy...such a wonderful poem for my favorite time of year
