THREE DREAM FOR THE SEA
BLACKOUT POETRY is a form of word art where the poet uses an already established text and creates a new work by blacking out words till a poem is formed. Generally the subject of the original work has no connection to the subject of the poem. It is a challenging way to use your creative intuition. Give it a try and you will be amazed at what you can draw out of the words. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I enjoy creating it.
Three climb down in the boat
hurry and untie the rope
shove away the dock with a pole
leap across between dock and deck.
Nothing to do but sit and yawn
push through the dawn gloom
wend down confusion.
A day be rare, crisp and clear
and only three in the fog.
So often dawn was sharp and salty
those days they reached the water.
They turn out for fish
with legs fighting a yaw
and try to dream again.
Remember the smells brothers
the dream we once claimed
in sleep beneath the covers.
