5-Minute Freewrite Prompt: Corn
Sprouts with vigorous life
Watered by felicity
Endures the furious weather
It glows green and bright
Each day, taller and taller
Each day, a leaf or two
Spiders weave their webs
Caterpillars, painful with their bites
Driven out by toxic rage
Yellow en masse produce
Golden and radiant like the sun
Crisp, sweet, precious jewels
The farmer gladly obliged
He thanks her for the service
And pledged to grow her child

Lovely poetry! Keep it up!
Yesterday a group of ancient bananafish appeared to me in a dream. They gave me a mission: to mariannewestize myself and bring the freewrites' gospel to the world!

Hey! Was this in the freewrite link room at the Isle? How did I miss it?! I could have sworn I read them all :(
What a beautiful depiction of the cycle of life. This was a really sweet and touching piece and that it came from that kernel of a prompt is all the more impressive! Well done :D
I might have forgotten to drop the link. I'll make sure to do it next time.
