Towards Freedom [Original Poem]
"Is freedom anything else than the right to live as we wish? Nothing else." - Epictetus
Towards Freedom
To just pay bills and die
Live this world they contrive
And then checkout - goodbye
I would not even try
Even if all the human race
Was willing to comply
Than working for the man
Become lord of your own fife
If you want it, you can
I’ll do what it takes to be free
It’s my only objective
I think about it constantly
They wished they worked more
From their death bed
It’s a warning I don’t ignore
In the ruling elites big game
Controlled by lashings from their whips
Like wild animals once free now tame
They tried to control me
Now I’m positioning
My pieces to flee
When you’re not concerned
With obtaining the latest toy
Using money yet unearned
Will be unnoticed
My life reshaped
In lands remotest
I shall soon be out there
Free from government sinister
And duped people unaware
King of my castle, to be finally crowned
Where freedom rides the breeze
And wild animals run all around
Simply perfection, brother! Love the message and your artistic style. Another home run, buddy!
Very well done!
Thanks @ezzy, I just wanted to write about something that I am working towards but it also got a huge response too. Which has surprised me :)

Looks like we are both filters of writing poems on mediocrity today. Very funny but poignant poem at same time. Great message, well done!
Yours was very well done too!

Such an honest and accurate poem. I love how you've expressed your own goals while addressing something that affects us all. <3
Thank you for the kind words, I didn't expect such a response to this poem here!
"There is no way I am alive
To just pay bills and die
Live this world they contrive
And then checkout - goodbye
If that was the case
I would not even try
Even if all the human race
Was willing to comply"
We are on the same wavelength. This describes eloquently so much about why we are living the way we are :)
Thank you kindly, I think this poem touched a lot of people due to the unexpectedly large response it brought. Steemit is full of like-minded peoples :D
