Scars - Original Haiku

I'll flaunt with pride
like medals of victory
scars that mark my broken soul

For the times our ego was wounded by despair.
For the times our guilt shattered our esteem.
Arise now and wear your scars with pride for no will.
They are medals of a wounded soldier.
A soldier who fell but rose in victory.
You survived and now you conquer.
Conquer the shame and pain.
Reveal the real you.
Show them who you are.
Beneath the shame and guilt lies a beautiful soul.
A Haiku is a short Japanese Poem consisting of 3 lines.
Traditionally, Japanese haikus consist of 17 syllables, in three phrases of five, seven and five syllables respectively. Among contemporary poems teikei (fixed form) haiku continue to use the 5-7-5 pattern while jiyuritsu (free form) haiku do not.
This is a Jiyuritsu Haiku.
