My first and hopefully not last entry to #poemchallenge by @margaretwise.

The road less travelled is hard to find,
Prudence and patience will protect from haughty eyes.
Through many jungles and over many canyons,
The drive to continue on, the choicest of companions.
Through many storms and many seasons
That reliable companion, shall keep my life from ceasing.
Out for the count, I'm the only soul about.
Things could always be worse,
A multitude of opportunities simply choose one and rehearse.
Not the desire of God you see,
For all to live in self-righteous poverty.
So used to a Western convention,
that self-made worth warrants a monetary suspension.
What happened to an honest days pay?
What happened to minding our own way?
Guilty until proven otherwise,
that shall be this paradigms demise.
A lack of love and trust
Irrelevant television mostly filled with lust.
Thousands of adverts a day
Lest we forget, we each must find our own way.

My Congratulations and thank you for taking a break from everyday worries. Poetry arises from a particular sensitivity and from the need to express in a personal way, its relation to the world and to itself in the form of words that purify the soul.

Seems as though with the modern advances in technology it's far easier to brainwash larger numbers of people than say 30 years ago, fortunately we've found Steemit so we can 'earn an honest days pay' 🙂
For curiosity's sake I had a brief look at your website and it seems we're not so disimilar in that 'My passion is to create images that break through the filters we've erected.' Albeit we're doing it via different mediums.

Hopefully someday soon we'll be able to overcome the issues with this site and some of the people and make that living. For now, it pays for my coffee, hehe. Well, some of my coffee.
