Nothing Lasts Forever
Basking in the limitations
Of a finite ending without extensions
It is foolhardy expecting
Permanence in our living
So why do I still dangle in the myth
Grand seduction of a love so deep
It transcends time and space
Like God that never sleeps
On the other hand is my reality
That my dreams are all vanity
Profane wishes highlighting naivety
Now here questioning my sanity
Nothing lasts forever still I worry
Might be true but not for my story
My dreams are valid beyond denial
Not turning back till my breath is final
I started three different comments, but I had to come back to saying:
great poem. It makes me pause and think. Waves of different emotions run through me.
It sucks when you feel like your dreams aren't attainable.
