Letter to my Mother

And laid my innocent eyes on you
I must have smiled and let out a beautiful cry
A cry of happiness
A cry of Joy to have been birthed by you
But this were imagination, my imagination
Also this were memories,
Memories I don't even remember
Would I even recognize you? O mother!
You who birthed me and gave me the first kiss of life
Would I know, if I were standing next to you?
Blood is thicker than water they say
But yet you left me
For reasons I have never been able to figure out
I guess our blood isn't as thick
Maybe that explains why it was easy for you to leave and never look back
Not for once
For over two decades, you left me
Leaving me to face the world all by myself
I guess you never thought about how I'd feel
I guess you thought the street would raise me well
I guess you thought the world will be fairer to me
But mother how wrong you were
Cos life wasn't any fairer
At least not to me
You are selfish I'd like to say
Perhaps a coward also
But no I can't, I shouldn't
Becos even without a mother
I still want you to see the world raised me well
And now that I will be seeing you soon
I have got all this mixed feelings
Even though I have always looked forward to this day
The day my mind can be at rest
The day I might finally get answers to all my whys
The day I can be able to say I didn't actually fall from the sky
Like some sort of alien
But I must say I am indeed really confused
Mother..will I see you and be all smiles?
Will I forgive you?
Would I be able to hug you?
Will tears run off my eyes?
Will I feel anything for you?
Will your reasons of leaving me be acceptable by me?
This and a lot more of questions clouds my mind
But until then
I still miss you mom
So touching, I hope you find all your answers and have the heart to love her more when you see her
