Bound trees

A planned exclusion of limbs and legions,
sorts, assortments: gems and sequins.

Lines unlighting steps unloof
on sterile paths of proof decayed
osmose soft fear, untruths allayed.

And dreams laid up, and hopes let down;
unravel me sickly and luscious crown.

A thought, a strand, a run-on scene:
demands me taut, and gaunt and lean
to be uncross life lets me in—
where bound trees o'er-extend.

"Bound trees" reminds me that all beings are interconnected. Just as trees that grow together seek each other, mix and gather their leaves and branches, and embrace each other at heights, so do souls. If there is Love in one, it expands and encompasses the cord of connected souls. The Light manifests and empowers to clarify what continues in shadows and awakens dormant senses for a long time.
The photographs show the idea of union and connection. The image of the reflection of the trees in the glass window looks great to me and speaks of how illusory reality is. Life is a mirror and, as such, it reflects our best or worst colours.

“Bound” is a richly polysemic word. Ambiguous enough to be central in a @d-pend poem.
Bound can mean things as distant as leaping strides, and boundaries or limitations; it can also mean to head in a given direction, be destined or doomed, be confined to a place.

In a way, trees seem to bridge all these meanings.
They are confined, but they stretch, move, invade spaces, sometimes destroying and overcoming their confinement.
We need trees as much as we need air or food or soldiers: some can protect us, some can kill us. Thus, control.

A planned exclusion of limbs and legions,
sorts, assortments: gems and sequins.

Which ones get to be trimmed and doubly-confined for decoration? Which ones get to grow as much and as freely as they can? It may be random decisions or well-planned ones.

I wonder if “unloof” spellplays on “aloof” with the same meaning or making it an opposite, just like unlighting means darkening. Would “unloof” mean friendly? Closer?
In any case, we have this image of lines of trees (?) casting shadows, alleviating lies, revisiting proven wrong decisions that raise expectations and multiple disappointments.

The illusion of order we demand from trees, we also demand from people, food or soldiers

demands me taut, and gaunt and lean
to be uncross life lets me in—
where bound trees o'er-extend

Thus, life grants us access if we abide by the rules, if we confine ourselves to law and order; only, like the trees, we tend to overextend and test the limits of bounding.

That's as beautiful as two lines of poetry ever get. Predictably, I love that particular alliteration in the first line. :-) But I also love what you did with "sorts, assortments" ... does that have a name ... where you find one word inside of another? I can't recall that it does, but it seems like it ought. That's a good technique ... stealing.

Overall assessment: Dan, you're not a city-slicker. You were most definitely meant to live on a farm. :-)

Good write.

Dear @d-pend sir!
The trees do not only provide pure and secure only to the environment but also the humanity for the human life is also a format. In a way, humans and tree are supplemented each other. This bound tree also passes through the development of a development in human, which includes food, increase, protection, safety etc. In the same time, you have a very good analysis that they are very good analyzed, and the man's sores like man, I refer to the mirror truth and reveal the real form of man.regards sir.

There's an audio file that goes with this poem, but the API is down on the service I use to master my sound files. So I decided to go ahead and post in the meantime anyway :-)
