Resurrection Day, 2017

"So is it with the resurrection of the dead. What is sown is perishable; what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonor; it is raised in glory. It is sown in weakness; it is raised in power." - 1 Corinthians 15:42-43

It has been Resurrection Day... I am inspired!

It's time for a new poem.

I Will Write The Stories, Celebrating

I will write the stories, celebrating,
my body newly reformed from the dust.
Jesus rose; now, so have I,
breaking new creative ground.

I will write the stories, soaring,
crafting ships to ply the stars.
Treading faces of a million worlds,
footprints left on virgin soil.

I will carve the truth, hammering
joyful glyphs into the faces of a thousand cliffs.
When rain has washed away the words,
I will carve them again into ten thousand more.

I will spin the tales, whispering
wonder into children's ears,
elevating young minds
to the fearless expectation of glory.

I will weave the legends, sailing
before the wind on vast and pristine seas.
Living every youthful fantasy,
Wresting every grown-up dream
from thought to vivid life.

I will share the stories, telling
of the foibles of my past.
Laughing at pain now forgotten
in the light of endless perfect day.

I will live the stories, experiencing
everything ever imagined, and more,
reveling in a future beyond present ken,
knowing it is all a gift.

I will sing the ballads, showing
all who doubted that the promise lives.
Stroking instruments made with loving hand,
eliciting sounds never before heard.

I will dance my lines, delighting,
tripping the light fantastic,
queens of brilliant thought in my embrace.
We shall collaborate ecstatically, creating
beauty beyond comprehension.

I will shout the stories, building
worlds of living, loving wonder,
filling each day with praise for
the Creator who shares his life and joy
with creatures such as I.

Thank you for posting @creatr.

Enjoyed reading your poem...your thoughts...and thoughts of Christ our Saviour coming through joyous and clear just as He should when we are occupied with Him and His thinking.

To love Him.....we must know Him...and we only know Him through the learning of His thinking.....The Bible.....The Word.

Proverbs....chapter eight...is a marvelous read....was brought to mind in the reading of your work...perhaps you will find it a favorite if it is not already.

I....Wisdom/Doctrine.....

In the Hebrew language it (doctrine) is in the feminine gender.

Hi, @bleujay,

Thank you for your, as ever, thoughtful commentary.

Yes, pre-existent Wisdom. Oh, that I might seek her more consistently! I knew that the personification of Wisdom in Proverbs was certainly feminine, but I was not aware that the word itself also was. Thanks for bringing that to my attention! ;)

Well look at you being so creative, your really good at poetry maybe you should write a book :)

Thank you, Karen! :)

a budding Horace? “Exegi monumentum aere perennius.” Still carried away by aeolian strains? LOL!! You go Guy ;

Yes, perhaps a Horace of sorts.

Let the favor of the Lord our God be upon us,
and establish the work of our hands upon us;
yes, establish the work of our hands! - Psalm 90:17

I fully expect the kind grace of Jesus to give permanence to all good that I do, now and in the future. ;) :)

Okay, enough fun ( for me) ..

I should explain the allusion that relates back to your exegesis of John passage in your Curmudgeonly way :)

Curiously, one of my life-long ambitions (first conceived as a young teen) has been to build an "ambient orchestra." Said ensemble would be comprised of aeolian harps, flutes, wind chimes, and other wind-driven instruments. However, it would also accept inputs from sunlight and shadow, sun angle, humidity, and rain. All instruments would be synchronized so that the overall effect would be harmonious, with the more rapid transient phenomenon driving interwoven melodies...

As alluded to in this piece, I fully expect to fulfill that ambition one day - if not in the present age, then in the one to come.
