Fading Into the Void - A Poem

Age has taken over this vessel
Overdriven
Blownown
Worn down
Yet still so new...
How did this happen?

I traveled into this Void
Knowing here I must stay
But for how long?
I never once knew;
I trusted in the Abyss
To keep me safe.

Their voices are all around
Haunting me with fears
That were never mine.
They strip away sacred memories
Before I have time to grasp
Their eternal lessons,
Throw me back into this game
That I must eternally replay...

But I think I've finally broken in
After breaking my mind
I'm finally able to see the encryption.
Zeros and ones line the halls
Of my reality
And I wonder
How I never saw this before...

But yes, of course.
You don't see it at all.
The haze is too thick around your eyes
But you feel it in your heart,
Don't you?
Deep down in your soul
You know how very true my words are;
Words that were never mine
To begin with.

We're in this together, you know?
And I'm worn
from bearing the weight of Atlas.
If you connect the events into constellations
You can read the map so clearly
But I won't pretend
To know what it means.

I'm tired;
Worn out like a story on repeat.
I can't keep doing this alone
Knowing you won't come with me.
