Poem Challenge With @magaretwise- Life's Shackles
It's another weekend
And the thoughts keep flowing
Another year has come and it's running fast
We run after it to achieve our dream
But it seems the more we run after it the faster it becomes for us to get it
It becomes like the air we just can't catch.
Thoughts of our dreams occupied us
And when it seems we are almost there
Almost there in getting our desired dreams
It just disappears like a trace of light hidden in a thick darkness
The options laid on our paths are tempting
Tempting enough to get our dignity slain for
But when will enter into it we realise giving our dignity wasn't worth to be sold out.
The shackles of life we are faced with
The shackles that make us stain our white garment with dirt
How far shall we go?
How far are we going to lay our dignity on the floor?
How far are we going to let others step on our values?
How far are we ready to forgo what will stand for in order to get it
Will it still be a success if we lose our true self in the process of getting it?
