Tapestry
My mind has been full of worry and stress. One of my greatest joys, creating, was nowhere to be found. Life has been on hold in my head. I have been trying to find that wonderful space where you can create an escape. It has eluded me these past weeks even though I have tried.
Tonight while feeling a tad sorry for myself I took my camera in the bedroom and closed my eyes and spoke. What you will hear in the video above is what came out.
I went back and then wrote the words down to make it easier for someone to see. It's not a masterpiece by any means but it is something created in my mind. Tonight I am very grateful for just that.
Tapestry
past and present bring new blood
past and present are here to stay
they weave, and weave, and weave, the rug
for the future, for the generations, to come
parts have holes, parts are there
to wear away as the time comes
the intricate design
is meant to be
for those who look back to see
on and on, day after day
the design gets made
piece, by piece
under over, left and right
the rug is weaved, for all to see
many moons will come and go
many moons where no one knows
the rug is being made for a purpose
for a trail, for us all to learn and see
see the mistakes weaved into the base
making it stronger and stronger
as it grows
there will be a time
someone will come
need that rug
all it contains
learn from it all
so they
may save
us all

Interesting collage and poem sweets. Who did the music? This can relate metaphorically to multiple things, so I am curious what you are referring to - seems like a family :)
the music was free from youtube to use for free on your video's....... I was very happy to find that!! was just spoken from my head. How life is all built on a foundation. How we learn from the mistakes we make when young but it makes us stronger as we grow.
Also about looking back on your family tree and learning from what has been done before.

This is beautiful, Snook. We weave the tapestry, or rug. Sometimes we weave alone, sometimes together, but we continue one that was begun before us, and hopefully someone finds beauty in it, and wisdom, and picks up the threads when we are too tired to weave anymore. Love you!

You picked lovely music to accompany your poem and voice. The new generation can see the parts with holes, worn from same paths being tread, and take the lessons from past mistakes to create something new. Each comes to the tapestry and admires, then learns, then adds more to the story. You say this isn't a masterpiece, though that's up to the person reading it <3, then weave a poem about something that families and historians hang in their halls of honor.
