How Did We Get Here?
Where everyone reads meaning to things
You can't do things with honesty of heart
Without having someone think otherwise
Maybe onlookers or even the target
Could it be based on our experiences?
Or could it be because we've been guilty?
Whatever way it is, we see life differently
Many people try to guard and guide themselves
Feeling the need to push everyone else away
You can't pass a compliment without stares
You can't walk with a lady on the stairs
You can't even pay a guy or lady's fare
Without people thinking you are in a funfare
What's wrong with the world that we live in?
How did we get this bad or mess things up?
