Hangin’ with WHO is a socio-politically charged talk-show I started at WOCC Viking Radio Ocean County College, in NJ, while earning a psychology degree several years ago. Having been on college and internet radio since the 90s curating underground music genres and interviewing underground Hip Hop legends, it seemed the next logical step for my career. I’ve been a social media activist and proponent for radical social reform immersed in anarcho-agorist/socialist circles for many years, which my roster of past and upcoming guests will reflect. In addition to reporting from the frontlines of the miserably failed War on “Drugs”, a segment of each podcast will be sponsored by #EHO and cover the topics of #sustainability, #zerowaste and #mentalhealth & #wellness, in that order. Please join us this evening as we welcome a very special guest for his first hang with the WHO, Reverend Steve Brigham of NJ's Famous Tent City. I've been calling him minister, realized it's probably reverend. I'll get it right before the show! I've not met Brigham face to face, although we spoke on the phone in 2012 when my wife and I found ourselves with no more couches to surf on. We were headed to the homeless encampment, at the time it was in Lakewood, with our then 2 year old daughter and a baby on the way. Tent CIty's lawyer and chair of the NJ Coalition to End Homelessness, Jeff Wild, intervened citing his concern about having young children at the camp. At that time they were making the news and drawing the attention of local authorities as well as residents. They were fighting for dear life to either stay in the woods legally or have the state provide at least temporary transitional housing. The original encampment was ultimately bulldozed and SOME of the residents received emergency housing for a period of time. The reverend had to open a new camp in a near by town in the woods next to a Walmart along NJ's Famous Route 9 in Howell, where they are now the first and only legal homeless camp on the East Coast US. We'll get more of the back story tonight and I intend to suggest starting a cooperative initiate with Brigham and James Abro to get homeless individuals and families to sign up for steemit so that they may begin to utilize crypto to fund their way towards a more sustainable, viable and independent existence.

Tent City was featured in the documentary Destiny's Bridge. The reverend has put us in touch with the director, Jack Ballo, to see if he is interested in decentralized distribution of the film. I'll invite him on the show in the coming weeks. For now, check out the trailer below.
