A Wish...
And so it seems this quest will end
With both, a bang and a whimper
The latter likely mine
I take another stealthy breath
That poor soul, pinned down to my left
If only I were braver
But alas. Neither my heart nor mind
Are playing fair. My hands, the only weapons
If only I had but a blade, a gun, a stick of dynamite
A bloody torch, a fishhook, or a net
A spitball tube, a rusted bayonet
But truly all I’d wish for is to be
A lot like them and not at all like me.
