My name is @photofriend and I am here to connect, entertain, support, help and reward everybody who shares the passion for photography and is submitting good and original content! Help me support original photography on Steemit and fight against plagiarism. [Read my intro.]

Plankton Support - How to use # hash-tags effectively?

---

Hash-tags serve to categorize posts into specific or/and related sections. They help to locate our posts later on and their correct use can be of great benefit in many ways. It is important to understand this and use them wisely. (note. On Steemit it is possible to use only five different hash-tags. It seems that posting on Steepshot lacks this limitation at the moment.)

Have a specific reason behind each hash-tag you use!
A hash-tag can get you an upvote or a resteem. It can make you a part of a photo-contest and so on. It is important to combine your hash-tags wisely in order to increase the potential of your post.

There are many different photo-contests running all the time and often with the same topics. Use your tags wisely and you can compete in many of them with just one post.

Choose your hash-tags based on your payouts!
If you do not promote your posts, and your payouts are very little, consider taking a part in some of the photo-contests and add tags like #artzone or #wafrica.
If you do promote them and your payouts are bigger, use the hash-tags to increase your visibility. Do your research and check each hash-tag related to your post. Check especially the trending sections to understand how big the payout must be in order to get your post among the top listed.

This week I decided to introduce you @softa (51). He is a Czech photographer, based in Prague and he started steeming in February 2018. I have been to many places he has 'captured' and I must admit that his personification is quite astonishing!
I will present you a couple of his photographs and I strongly encourage you to check his work out for yourself.

Famous Photographer - Ansel Adams

Ansel Adams (February 20, 1902 – April 22, 1984) was an American photographer who specialised in the black and white photography of rural landscapes. He was an environmental activist and one of the the pioneers of modern nature photography. His black-and-white landscape photographs of the American West, especially Yosemite National Park, have been widely reproduced on calendars, posters, books, and the internet.
Together with Fred Archer they developed the Zone System as a way to determine proper exposure and adjust the contrast of the final print. The resulting clarity and depth characterized his photographs. He primarily used large-format cameras because the large film used with these cameras (primarily 5x4 and 8x10) contributed to the clarity of his prints.

His personal philosophy was: "You don't take a photograph, you make it. When words become unclear, I shall focus with photographs. When images become inadequate, I shall be content with silence."

Not only considered as the best film about photography, it is also one of the best films to come out in recent years.
