Navigate to... City center... Castelnau le Lez

in #photomatic6 years ago

Castelnau le Lez... say nothing to most of the people. Is a commune near Montpellier, in the south of France. The phone was ringing, I pick it up ( it was around 23:30 ) the client needs the package at 12:00 next day. That means around 1 100 km in about 12 hours... acceptably. At 12:30 I was already taking my shots around the city :)

The project "Navigate to... City center..." means to set the navigation to drive in the center of the city where I have business to do and to capture the life, the vibration, to absorb via my lens that moment, that pedestrian, that thing.

Castelnau le Lez: Wikipedia turns back just a row of information, trip adviser probably don't know about this commune, but that's my personal challenge, to capture not only great monuments and capitals but also real life from around us.

Here is my vision in just a couple of shots ( I shot in that couple of hours around 800 clicks ):

Because it's not an animated city, full of colors, modern buildings, urban traffic and chaos I choose to edit the photos in black and white for a greater impact.

These pictures convince me that even if technology got to a point where large arcologies could be built, somewhere at their feet would be an old church and winding passages.

The one (of many) thing(s) I love about Europe is the new is grafted on to the old bones of what came before. It lends a visual history that is rich and compelling.

What I can tell you is that I travel a lot in Europe and every time I set the navigation to center of the city where, in most of the times there is a church, no matter if is a big city or a small commune.

Until now I was only around Europe but I'm planing to visit also other continents, to see other cultures.

Thank you for your comment, means a lot!

really nice shots @somalcescu, and 'navigate to... city center'.. great way to get an overall glimpse of different cities, keep it up!

Thank you very much for your support!

Wow! What a collection! I do like them... It seems a quiet place, I hardly see many people... Cool! :)

Yes indeed, it was really a quiet commune but it gives you a special energy, it's nice some times to escape from the big city's also for a couple of hours.
