Did You See The Moon Bleeding Yesterday Evening?

Oh, what rubbish! Can that cool, peaceful & pacifying Moon ever bleed or turn red with anger???

Really not! But I saw one of the rarest event called Blood Moon yesterday evening when, Moon did turn red for a couple of hours. You must have heard about Super Moon when Moon is closest to the Earth and appears bigger than usual. You may also know about the erroneous definition of a Blue Moon as a second full moon in a single solar calendar month. Yesterday, it was a rare combination of all ...a Super Moon, a Blue Moon and a Blood Moon. It was a unique lunar eclipse when Earth's shadow covered the whole Moon. But some of the Sun's rays reached Moon passing through Earth's atmosphere. And this made the Moon appear red. So it was called Blood Moon or Super Blood Moon or Super-Blue-Blood-Moon. Now this names "Blue" & "Blood" may sound contradictory but this is how it was!
I tried to capture it with my mobile phone camera:

During this time, I was taking a long walk with my friend. It was very bright when we left home. I watched the Sunset too during the walk:

But when we were returning, my friend was wondering why it has gone so dark when it was still bright yesterday around the same time.


Then I told him that today is the lunar eclipse at this moment while it was full moon brightness yesterday evening. That's why I had asked him to bring the torch along today. But until I explained him this, he was reluctant to take out his torch and was somehow waiting for the light to lit up. Finally, he took out his torch but its battery was very weak and my mobile phone flash light was better than that.

Anyway, we reached home safely. And then after some time, the eclipse was all over and moon turned into its usual flashy white colour spreading brightness everywhere.
