Pensacola Beach in February
The weather has been mild for us here in the deep south and, God willing, it will continue to be so into spring. My family loves to go to the beach whenever possible. My father fishes with whatever new bait/lure/item is hot this month while my mother relaxes in a chair on the beach. I drift between them and occasionally rummage around on the shores, collecting seashells and sand dollars that I am often surprised that others miss.
Recently, we've had to go later in the day, as the sun and the heat have become too much as my parents age. To be honest, this hasn't been a completely bad thing, as the sunsets are spectacular and the temperatures mild. This warm winter has allowed for us to enjoy the beach without the crowd or a jacket.
On our last outing, a rather adventurous wave rose over the small sand berm and carved a tiny channel into the sand behind it. I immediately saw a wonderful picture opportunity with the sunset in the background, light sparkling off the foamy water and sand grains (oh, how I wish I had had my DSLR at that moment but alas, a phone will do just fine). I thought it would be nice to share my favorite self-shot picture of February with everyone, happy March.
