I share your point of view about the lack of engagement and disinsterested upvotes.

One thing I dislike about Steem is the ability to automate upvotes. Sometimes you get hundreds of upvotes but you have no idea how many people actually looked at your pictures or read your post. The associated reward is of course welcome, but this feel awkward to me.
